Dangote Foundation will fund 10 extra shares for eligible students in the refinery IPO
Eligible students who subscribe to at least 10 Dangote Refinery IPO shares (₦5,250) through the Foundation’s student portal may get 10 extra shares funded by the Aliko Dangote Foundation — but neither the funding nor the allotment is guaranteed.
The Aliko Dangote Foundation is offering eligible Nigerian students an extra 10 shares in the Dangote Refinery IPO, at no cost to them.
How the scheme works
A student applies personally for at least 10 shares — that is ₦5,250 at the offer price of ₦525 per share — through the Foundation’s designated student channel, ipo.alikodangotefoundation.org. After verification, the Foundation may fund a separate application for another 10 shares on the student’s behalf.
If both applications are fully allotted, the student ends up with up to 20 shares worth ₦10,500 at the offer price, having paid ₦5,250.
Who qualifies
Students aged 18 and above at recognised Nigerian tertiary institutions: federal, state and private universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and similar schools. Postgraduate students are excluded. The Foundation verifies student status with details including names and matriculation numbers.
Two honest caveats
First, the extra 10 shares are not automatic. The Foundation keeps the discretion to decide whose additional application it funds. Second, allotment itself depends on the IPO’s terms and outcome — applying does not guarantee receiving shares.
Why the Foundation is doing this
The Foundation says the point of the scheme is financial literacy: getting young Nigerians into the capital market early and responsibly. It applies only to the refinery IPO, not to other Dangote Group investments.
The student subscription still has to go in before the offer closes on 13 October 2026.
